Your Coffee at Work

This year, over $10,000.00 has been raised for the Basilian Fathers Missions through the sale of Saint Basil Coffee.

Saint Basil CoffeeSaint Basil Coffee is a non-profit coffee company whose revenue primarily supports missions in Latin America. The company was started by a group of Catholic lay people working with priests of The Congregation of Saint Basil in response to Pope John Paul II’s appeal for social justice.

Each cup of Saint Basil Coffee that you enjoy here, is a cup of love there. Your purchase of St. Basil’s coffee enables our Basilian missionaries to continue with their corporal and spiritual works of mercy in our mission areas. All profits of Saint Basil Coffee go to the missions. Since there are no paid salaries and expenses are kept to a minimum, approximately 40% of the purchase price of a bag of coffee is distributed to the missions.

Please keep ordering Saint Basil Coffee and telling others about it. By reordering you make a commitment to the support of our missions and your continuing support makes a difference.

Your coffee works! Why not take an extra bag to work with you and share the love with your friends and co-workers?

Order today:

Online at www.saintbasilcoffee.com or by Phone: 281-397-2276 or Fax: 713-880-0779

Good news! Saint Basil Coffee can now be ordered in Canada.

- Greetings from Cali -

Students at the Institute of Our Lady of the Assumption

We’d like to introduce you to two of our students at the Institute of Our Lady of the Assumption. Both girls are very happy to attend this Basilian run school in Cali, Colombia.

Mayerly Stephany Aguilar Amu

“My name is Mayerly and I live in the barrio of “La Playa” near the Cauca River in the city of Cali, Colombia. I am 12 years old and I am in grade 6. There are ten people in my home. I live with my mother, Hilda, my three small brothers, my Aunt Abigail, my three cousins and my stepfather, Eleicer. We all live in the same house. My mother works as a street vendor selling fish and fruit; my stepfather delivers sand. The other children in my family study in public schools, but I have the privilege of studying in the Institute of Our Lady of the Assumption, thanks to the Basilian Fathers and generous people like you.”

Liliana Valencia Gomez

“My name is Liliana Valencia Gomez and I am 7 years old and am in Kindergarten in the Institute of Our Lady of the Assumption. I live with my daddy, my mommy and my sister Natalia who is 4 years old. I love my family.”

Liliana’s father works in the outdoor market in the barrio Alfonso Lopez, one of the poorest neighborhoods in Cali. He sells animal bones. Her mother takes care of the house and cares for her two precious little girls.

Liliana’s father works hard to provide for his family, yet there is barely enough money to pay for food and the rent for the room in the house where the family lives with nine other families. Each family has one room, and all ten families share a single kitchen and bathroom. Thanks to their friends, they share used clothes and shoes. Each day, Liliana is able to have a nourishing breakfast at school at the Institute of Our Lady of the Assumption.
