Our Mission in Colombia
In 1987, The Basilian Fathers Missions arrived in Cali, Colombia –extending the Basilian’s evangelical and academic outreach to South America with the support of the Basilian Superior at the time, Father Ulysse Pare. In the decades to come, our ministry would expand to the cities of Medellin, and Bogota.
Religious Formation
Religious formation in Colombia begins at Casa Annonay in Bogotá. It is here that our Novices begin to live Basilian community life. Young Basilians are active in our local ministry and provide a blessing for the parish community. Some of our Scholastics, in the Basilian tradition, also serve as full time teachers. Basilians Fathers are helping to organize women’s ministry in Colombia to share in our evangelization.
In Colombia, Basilians evangelize and educate but that is not where out our outreach ends. In Cali we offer soup and food baskets; in Medellín, a community restaurant and medical center. We serve the needy who come to receive this important help.
